Greetings!

This is the introductory blogpost for Olive Patch so you know if it's worth to stick around or not!

You may peruse this skeleton of a website as it is today, but know that it will always be changing as time and resources allow.

So, what's happening?

Recapping from the last few months... I finally finished mixing the previously showcased "The Some of Us" into its most current rendition. There's not much new except a more recent vocal take, but we can all appreciate that!

"The Some of Us" has been mixed into an extended version, with a b-side constructed from the stems, a remix recreated entirely with FM, and an additional ambient track. If purchasing the album on Bandcamp, I've also included a demo and a curio from all the way back in 2024. More will surface in time, but most will likely remain locked inside the Joulie-Vault. The vocals alone would shatter the strongest of wills.

As much as I would have loved to release and perform back then, the material was far from a reasonable state until the following year. at minimum. My time spent in 2025 was then mired with mundane office work that impeded any meaningful progress I could make to finalize this album. Progress since has slowed to a crawl; I've processed mood swings of nearly wiping my hard drive clean out of disappointment, and I've returned to my instruments with increasingly less dexterity as the gaps between each play session grows longer and longer. Something something 40h work weeks, capitalism, and the whole nein yards of the US.

Nevertheless, my work and I remain steadfast and in good spirits, and I intend to finally see it to its fruition in this year of our demiurge, satan! The final touch to The Some of Us EP will be filming a video to coincide with its release. We would love to make some CDs to hand out at future performances as well, touching on our roots in DIY until we have a reason to be more official. Until then, enjoy the luxury of printing your own covers when purchasing the album off Bandcamp or wherever the hell else you manage to find it! I won't judge. Mase might, though.

Until we determine the official release date of the single/ep, I will leave you with this site to view what you will. Send me an email if you like, I'll respond when I got the time! Take care of yourselves, all of you, and stay safe out there.
